About Dr. Gautam Vadilal Patel  
     
 

Mr. Gautam Vadilal Patel was born in 1936. Mr. Gautam Patel was about to go for further studies in Economics but Pujya Gurdeva Swami Gangeshwaranandji inspired him with the words "My dear child! One should study such a lore by which one should attain ones welfare here in this world as well as in the next world too". On asking by him which is such lore, Gurudeva advised him to study Sanskrit.

Dr. Gautam Patel studied Sanskrit with the blessings of Gurudeva. He is today a recipient of the Certificate of Merits from the President of India for his contribution to the Sanskrit language and scriptures.

Dr. Gautam Patel has written, edited or co-edited as a writer, editor or  general editor more than on hundred and fifty (150+) books. He is the former President of All India Federation of Sanskrit Academies, New Delhi and former Chairman of Sanskrit Sahitya Academy of the Gujarat state. At present he is the founder President of Sanskrit Seva Samiti. He retired as the Head of the Sanskrit division from St. Xavier's college, Ahmedabad in 1996.

Dr. Gautam Patel has presented his findigs, research papers and articles in the field of Sanskrit to numerous national and international conferences and organizations. Dr. Gautam Patel served as the Head in 8th World Sanskrit Conference in Vienna in the division of "Dharma and Darshana".
